Georgia's month-a-versary
I can't believe that nearly a month ago we were concerned that she hadn't pooped yet! Now we are 200 diaper changes into her life. At this rate we will change 2,000 diapers by the time she is potty trained.
She has also put on some pounds. We think that she will be out of the newborn diapers in another week or so and she has grown out of her preemie sleepers. Finally she can start wearing the cute outfits in newborn size and then on to 0-3 mo.
It hasn't even been a month!!!
Well, we are just short our first month in this world and everything is still topsy-turvy.
Georgia is 100% Cates. I keep wondering how I could have shared a body with her for 9 months and have had no influence on her appearance. Fortunately she got all of the Cates cutest features.
As for the colic, it isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Andrew found this website, iserenity.com, which plays white noise. It has been a life saver.
Funny thing is, she never gets colic when other people are around. It is only when Andrew and I are with her. I am close to bringing my mom here full time, since she is an angel whenever she is around.
Thank Heaven for Hybrids
Well Andrew and I may have come up with a plan to fight colic. There are two ways to deal with Georgia's: Hold her or Drive her.
Yesterday I held her for about 6 hours and around 5 am Andrew took her for a drive around town. I always saw it in the movies, but never thought we would be doing it.
Hey, whatever works!
3 am, 3pm What's the difference
Well things have definitely changed as we enter week 3. She no longer needs to be swaddled constantly and actually enjoys a bit of 'naked time'.
A less enjoyable change is her experience with colic. Last night Andrew and I finally went to sleep at 3am and then were woken back up only an hour later. We heard an entirely new cry that was inconsolable. Thankfully Georgia's Aunt Mamie took care of her from 8 am until noon so that we could get some much needed sleep.
Let's hope that between watching my diet and Mylicon we can overcome Colic!
Life with a Newborn
For all those moms out there that laughed when I wrote about my perfect daughter who lets us get 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night, you will be happy to know she stopped that!
The next few nights were sleepless but thanks to a few professionals and her Aunt Shell and Yaya Lisa we are getting back on track.
