Mommy's Big Girl

Posted September 06, 2009 08:51 , Comments (1)

So the month of August was very exciting for us. Georgia found out how to get out of her crib so we switched her into her big girl bed. Her new big girl room is adorable. Soon we will switch out the nursing chair for a tea table.
She started playing with tea sets and really enjoys it. She actually woke me up to have tea.
She is talking constantly. Everyone is impressed at her pronunciation. It is really wonderful.
We have been really slack on this site lately because we switched to a mac and pics are harder to upload and now we need a new camera.

Mover and a shaker

Georgia is amazing! She is so smart and beautiful. I know I say that every time, but it is true.
She takes her stool into the kitchen to help us cook or clean. She has to be part of everything. The first time she helped she took her stool to one side of the counter grabbed a pinch of salt; she then took the stool to the other side of the counter and salted the food I was cooking. We have never taught her any of this. She is so observant. Last night she climbed up to help Andrew need the pizza dough. It was so cute. She really loves to be in the kitchen.
Her birthday is coming up and she is about to be two. I can hardly believe it. We are going to the park. I know that she will love it! She really enjoys swings and slides at the moment. Still a big fan of Elmo, but she also calls out for Grover, Telly, and Big Bird. It is adorable. She is adorable!!
If she gets any cuter we may decide to have a second child...perhaps I should re-read all the other entries before I make any decisions.

My big girl

Georgia has become Mommies little helper. She loves to unload the dishwasher. She hands me one cup or one piece of silverware to put up at a time. It is very sweet.
Unfortunately she doesn't understand loading the dishwasher. She still tries to unload dirty dishes.
She officially has a sitter named Fran. Georgia seems to like her a lot. They are together for a couple of hours 2 days a week, while we play kickball.
Smooth sailing for now.

Bo, Bea, Oogie and the ABCs

There are too many things to update about Georgia, but I think I have narrowed down the two cutest habits.
Georgia now says Bo for Boris, Bea for Beatrice, and Oogie for Boogie. It is cute because she is so excited every time one of them comes around. They are even getting better about letting her pet them.
Another thing that she just started doing tonight is singing A B C in the tradition melody. She starts babbling after C but the first three letters are awesome!
Other than that she is just loving life. It is so much fun playing with her everyday. She still loves being read to and has started to take a 3 to 4 hour nap. We discovered that leaving her CD on repeat helps her to sleep better; which is good for us too!

The kids got spunk

So now that we have entered the terrible two's (4 months early) Georgia has a tantrum at the drop of a hat.
If she thinks she is in trouble or isn't going to get her way, she fakes a fall for sympathy.
On the plus side she has now picked up several duties. She feeds Beatrice in the mornings and she will throw things away.
She has also almost finished cutting her far back molars.
One other thing that I have noticed is that I think her eyes are going to be more green than blue. Andrew disagrees, so I guess we will no for certain in a few years.
